Before Your Very Eyes
Quote from mertoz on 21/01/2020, 10:21BEFORE YOUR VERY EYES - A MANIFEST ON DECOLONIZING NATURE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 - The Earth will survive for another 4 billion years. When that time comes, the sun will explode and destroy the whole galaxy. What really concerns us, however, is the impending end of humanity.
1.2 - The impacts of global warming might be irreversible, but should we just sit back and hope for things to get better? The answer is „No.“
Chapter II
2.1 - The first step is to activate a spot which is nearly forgotten and waiting for developers to build a gated community.
2.2 - Bring the people there instead and let it be a source of enjoyment.
2.2 - Once the area is a beloved part of the city, for the people of Vienna and its visitors, they will lose it.
Chapter III
3.1 - Poor some water and wash their faces. Before their very eyes the site will be taken over by floods leaving only small islands as traces. And the water around them will stand as invisible fences to help them realize, how millions of people outside of Europe lose their beloved homes.
Chapter IV
4.1 These traces now exist as monuments, isolated from the people. Within sight, but out of reach. The creation of the islands allow nature to take a rest while the swamps fight against the climate change, also for humanity.
